Project Description
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from 3 to 5 May, 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Summit was attended by around 3,000 delegates from India and abroad.
The Summit, for the first time, saw a conglomeration of different ministries viz. Ministries of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Civil Aviation, Railways, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Skill Development, Commerce, Urban Development, Finance and various state governments and industries & infrastructure experts. The India Integrated Transport and Logistics Summit – 2017 (IITLS), was the effort to bring together all the concerned stakeholders, viz. government agencies, logistics service providers, concessionaires, end-users and investors on one platform. The Summit will highlight the various new development programs in transport and logistics sector in India.
Project Details
In terms of value, the biggest MoU signed during the Summit was signed between Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) worth Rs 1,07,000 Crore. A total of 79 port connectivity projects will be implemented under Sagarmala.It was being organized with a view to promote collaboration between stakeholders involved in the transport and logistics sector. It was envisaged that this collection of theme papers, discussing six key areas in which improvement is needed to improve the state of logistics in India, will be useful to all stakeholders. The IITLS was an excellent platform for all those with interest in transport and logistics sectors to come together and initiate collaborative partnerships to realize the various Greenfield and Brownfield opportunities in logistic parks, freight corridors and IT solutions.
